Summer Sublimation Crafts to Try Today
Summer is right around the corner, and if you're looking for some creative DIY projects to keep you busy, I’ve got you covered. I will walk you through five amazing sublimation projects that are easy to make and can be completed today.
My go-to for all my sublimation supplies and equipment is ProWorld. They have a wide variety of sublimation items as well as the best equipment you can get for your sublimation business.
Garden Flag
For this project, all you need is a 13” x 19” canvas and a garden flag design from North 80. Print your design on the canvas using a Sawgrass SG 1000 printer with the bypass tray. Tape the flag in place with butcher paper and press it at 400 degrees for 40 seconds. You can customize it any way you want and put it right outside.
Custom Bag Tag
The second project is a custom bag tag, perfect for a backpack when the kids head off to summer camp or luggage tag. Start with a rectangle that is the same size as your blank. Add a digital paper to the rectangle, and then add your desired name. Print your design, tape it to your blank, and press it for 60 seconds at 400 degrees.
Can Koozie
The third project is a can cooler, can koozie or can hugger, whatever you want to call these! Print your design, tape it to your can cooler, and press it for 30 seconds at 400 degrees. Don't forget that sometimes can coolers get a little bit of an indent, so you may want to re-sandwich and press for a few seconds. And you have super cute koozies for beer or even bubbly, whatever you prefer in your summer months.
Water Bottle
Personally, I am literally obsessed with all things sublimation drinkware, and this is so super easy to do. I printed my design and taped it to my water bottle. You will want to measure the exact water bottle that you're using to be able to size your design accordingly.
For this water bottle project, I use my Trans Pro plus mug press also from ProWorld for 75 seconds at 375 degrees. I did turn this one just a little bit halfway through to just get that perfect print on my water bottle. I let it cool off before I peel the paper. It's just a little bit easier to handle and you always get this perfect image with this combo of the Sawgrass printer and my mug.
Yoga Headband
Last, but certainly not least, you can make a super cute headband. For this project, I used the wide yoga size. In Adobe Illustrator, I made a 4.75” x 9” rectangle and added a cute pattern that I also got from North 80. I did pre-press the headband just to make sure it was nice and flat before I added on the paper.
I pressed the head band for 35 seconds at 400 degrees, and then flipped it to do the other side. When you flip over the head band, you want to flip it from left to right and you're going to put it on the back and you wanna try to line it up the best that you can. This allows for your design to look as seamless as possible.
With these five projects, you're sure to have a fun and productive summer. They are all easy to make and can be completed in no time. Remember to use the best sublimation supplies for the best results. And if you’re ready to step up your sublimation game, definitely consider ProWorld.
